Pros & Cons
Pros
The crimper and housings are sturdy and effective. Everything fits how it should, ratcheting is smooth but tight. Remember to cut a small opening in the black cover sleeve and thread it on the wire before crimping.
This is the first time i am using these anderson style connectors. I work with a high school robotics team seasonally and they are slowly converting to these connectors as well. The rubber sleeves make a very nice looking finished connector.
Cons
These are folding-flap style like dupont pins, and they are as troubling as those pins. That probably means that this crimper won't work on real anderson contacts. The slight ridge doesn't really crimp, it just sort of flattens the connector.
Highlights
Quality
The connectors that come with it don’t appear to be as high quality as anderson or other brands but they work and will do the job
Before crimping one reviewer uses a needle nose plier to align the rear prongs squeeze a little with the sides of the wire 34slot34
It is a bit of a three handed operation to insert the ferule hold the wire for the correct alignment and squeeze the crimper
