This rapala grip works great for lakes and areas where there are not really big gamefish. Worked great on a 30 inch channel catfish. Only minor scrapes.
Really easy to use, and very helpful when dealing with toothy fish. This tool is invaluable.

Cons
May have gotten a defected gripper. Does not clamp and grip properly. When clicking order page, it changes from no dimension on headline to showing 6 inches.

Great feel in the hand but pulling a 35 pound striped bass into the boat is risky because the fish slides out of the grip

It seems that the cam that creates the closure pressure is weak so with heavy fish just use the net
