It works for both things and i am very happy with the quality
My husband uses it to cover his motorcycle when hes pulling it on a trailer and has been very pleased with the performance
Its definitely worth it to use a better quality tarp because it lasts so much longer
This tarp is definitely of higher quality as it should be for 40

Every other tarp we have purchased even when marked heavy duty were quite light and compared to this one were positively flimsy

This is rated medium duty by the company so i would not use it for truly difficult situations

For example it may work well for covering a wood pile or something but on a work site it may not hold up
