Pros

Used this for hanging my kayak from the garage ceiling. Used it to hang a hardtop cargo carrier upside down from the ceiling. Ensured brackets were mounted to studs in ceiling.

Easy install, sturdy product. Strong and secure. Easy to install with basic skills. Secure & strong.

This product works as advertised. Works perfect for my needs. Hence this is sooooo much nicer.

Cons

We no longer have any inventory/parts available and are not aware of any distributor partners with product left either. After several years in a hot garage, the pulleys degrade to powder. The product is poorly engineered.

The pulleys are just a * design with excess space built in almost purposefully to derail the rope. It lock ok but you pretty much have to climb up on a ladder to get it to release.

All bike hoists made like this one are cheap junk. Screws are not appropriate for attaching through sheet rock to joists. Could not independently control front height and back height while hoisting. Latching mechanism that holds the rope that keeps yo...  Read More

My ceiling was 12 foot high but there was enough rope to go 14 foot or more

If they come with a loop velco even better

However if the weight of the front or rear end of the bike is not balance it will tip to one side but at the very end it will level out when the bike reach the top

When bikes are up there is a lot of extra rope

I found installation straight forward and it took me about 2030 minutes each to install two after i found a rafter stud to fasten them in too

Note on installation after you tie off the rope on the first end you’ll need to carefully place it into the bracket channel so that it does not get “pinched” when you screw it into the ceiling

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I found that the average distance from saddle to handlebar is 30 ins and the joists are 18 ins apart

So you are unable to site the pullies at 30 in it will still function placing them at 36 ins
