The other is a very low quality sharpener, and i did not just how poorly made it was until receiving this one and testing it out.

As it says in the instructions, the angle on the sharpener isn't suitable for fine german and japanese knives, so i didn't even atempt.

I dont have any ceramic knives, so i taped that slot off so i wouldn't confuse them.

It only took a couple passes through the sharpener for any of the knifes, if i remember right it said you could try up to 5 passes.

If you have a really expensive set i would suggest trying it out on a less valuable knife first, just to get the hang of it.

It may look a little unstable, but it when griped it is not going to move.

It would be nice if the identity labels were on both sides to accommodate both right and left hand users.
