I added disks i had in my drobo and the qnaps smart features immediately identified 2 drives as failing never heard a peep from the drobo

Blue iris is a fantastic program but i also started using the builtin security software on the qnap to record the cameras as well

    Some of the software on it is a bit dated configuring it as an openvpn client is a pain openldap doesnt come configured for cnconfig as a base but the kvm implementation and gui front end for it is great

    Beware if youre planning on using it for nfs the default nfsv4 setup is about as woefully insecure and braindead as they could make it
