This adapter works on my samsung galaxy tab s2 tablet but not my samsung galaxy s6 edge phone because the phone is not an hml device

The sony tv had mhl support and the cable worked great but it did not work on the generic tv

I love the cable but before you buy keep in mind that the powerin source must be very close to the tv because there is only about 1 meter between the hdmi connector and the usb power in cable

I was lucky because the tv was close to a power outlet near the ceiling but if i would have had to run the power from a wall mounted tv to a floor plug it would never have reached with a usb extension cable

Most newer tvs have a usb port but ours did not even if it did the 300500ma power from the port wouldnt have been enough to keep the phone charged while watching a movie
