The foundation of the orthotic is a hard formed plastic, not flimsy foam like * store orthotic inserts. These are fantastic supports for feet with poor arches.

Cons

They are hard and thin. No cushion. No support. With the red liner, my white socks now have a pink hue on the bottom. These insoles are not anywhere near as comfortable or as arch supporting as the smartfeet insoles.

There are many other brands of insoles that are sold in stores and here on amazon but these actually work

I did get different pair on amazon that works equally well but you will not be disappointed with these
