Pros & Cons
Pros
Great consistency, behaves just as you would think and as it should. It is seems expensive but is actually priced very well for what it is. Still like it tho!
Leaf lard is creamy and mellow. Fine-flavored and is a fine lubricant.
Great for keto & no overwhelming after taste or bitterness. Works great as a healthy fat for my organ meat burger. Leaves the food cooked in it with a slight taste of bacon minus the smoke. Easy to use, good replacement for those bored with using ... Read More
Use instead of crisco or butter. Makes biscuits flakier. Yields tender, toothsome pastry and cloud-like biscuits.
The taste is fantastic in baked goods, and the dough is so nice to work with, so tender, flavorful and flaky. For pie pop it into the fridge or freezer first. It does a great job making crusts crispy.
Cons
Leaf lard overwhelms everything it touches, and not in a good way. The crust has a definite pork taste which is not pleasant. The cookies smell and taste like pork. The smell are very terrible and disgusting.
