The base is adequate, but be positioning the lens to keep things stable takes a bit of care. I wish it was 6 inches longer and the base was heavier.

The clamp opens to 2. Now it flashes almost constantly. Needs an additional weight on base to be useable. It was misrepresented.

However this only really works if you use this item on a workbench thats rammed up against a wall with outlets on said wall at tabletop level
