Holds the knife very securely just make sure the knotch latches and there is no movement at all

If you don’t push the blade all the way into the sheath then it is only held poorly by the side buttons of the latch release

The negative reviews and the lose of a knife on day 1 i suspect are do to the knife not totally being seated in the sheath so the center latch didn’t catch as it should

I took one star off because it the cheaper less pliable plastic of the sheath and the thinnest of the blunt hammer part of the handle

The sheath locks the blade into place no chance of it coming out that i can tell until the button is pressed
