Pros
Simon monk's python for the raspberry pi is a great introduction to python. It is for the prior version, but most of what is in the book applies to the newer raspberry pi 3 too. Great to learn code. A good book to start working with the raspberry pi.
This book is good for python beginners. If that is you, i recommend it. Omg yes.
As a 50+ yr/o self learning a new field, this text is a go-to-text. Learning to program has been enriching. The simplicity and the very well explained ideas make it a very enjoyable process.
