Those brackets allow the bars to be maxed out forward all the way to the edge while clamping across a 2 inch section of the bar the pads are built into this clamp its a one piece which is nice because the t4 has a 2 piece clamp also youre entire clamp is secured through a single bolt in oppose to 2 one of which you have to move the pad to adequately maneuver

The entire getup will also sit lower and more aggressive however i would expect anyone making a cockpit change to get a bike fit with all the new toys installed first

They give you a position on the bike that takes away arm and hand numbness while increasing your speed at least one mph due to body position
