The guard is adjustable and very comfortble to wear. True it's a bit dorky looking, but so far i haven't had to wear it in public.
Bought for husband after sinoplasty. Would work after rhinoplasty too. Needed this for my glasses following nasal surgery.

Another downside is that it is non-returnable. The lifetime guarantee is nonsense.
