The test are two little pieces of paper you're supposed to wet using a dropper, then rub it on the surface. The pad starts disintegrating by 30 seconds in.

Although really great for locating some of your lead surfaces the kit is useless if your goal is to figure out whether a given surface is leadfree

The kit only claims to detect 34leachable34 lead so the test results are essentially either a theres lead or b unknown

This is not the recommended procedure but it certainly allowed me get a rough idea of how extensive my lead problem was without having to shell out big bucks
