The headband is perfect. Perfect size for his teenage years. It's very comfortable on my head and over my ears.
It seems the trick is getting a firm fit, while not causing discomfort. Fold better than the inner cannel things i tried. I really like how these fold up compact.
Cons

The vanderfields muffs have a couple millimeter gap between the cushion and the edge of the outer shell, which is what i recieved. These ear muffs are a repackaged copy of the pyramex pm90.

Added bonus was that they sealed well over my ears yet didnt pinch the arms of the safety glasses i was wearing against my head
