Pros

The footprint is a reasonable size for limited classroom counter space. For a classroom it is much safer as the metal frame houses all electrical components. It actually takes up less of a footprint than my printer.

The print speed is not as fast as some of the more expensive, fancier printers, but i prefer to keep the speed down to improve the quality. The print quality is pretty great, especially given the price of the printer.

The play includes an auto-leveling sensor, greatly increasing the accuracy of a print and removing the need to level the bed every time. One con that should go under design is the lack of a detachable bed.

The printrbot play is a drop-in replacement for autodesk's fusion 360 fusion software. The play has been cost-quality optimized, making it an incredible value for the money.

Cons

The z axis (up and down) was beginning to print in the wrong direction. There are several design flaws in this 3d printer. Support always suggests returning printer for'spa' to fix what are not mechanical problems.

The mechanics are finicky, and the software and hardware requires some tinkering. Software - seems buggy. The auto-level is garbage. It's not worth the hassle.

It goes to the hot end fan, and isn't easily repairable with a soldering iron. This is solderable, so i fix. Had to solder the wire to the connector.

Dont bother with the paltry sample filament
