One important point which is clear in the very good instructional video on you tube but less so in the enclosed instructions is to clean the sponge wiper at one end of the print head travel mine was saturated with old ink and would only have served to dirty rather than clean the print head

The solvent from the kit and some ear buds did that very well

I purchased this item as my printer stopped printing black in completely after it failed to register when the cartridge had run out

Despite changing the cartridge and performing multiple selfcleans the black ink was failing to print at all

Although the video tutorial does state that if the cleaning process does not work after using the fluid and the performing a printer selfclean 3 times then this may be the end of the road i did not find this to be the case

The selfclean procedure then needed to be performed 5 times before the black ink returned to full function
