    The handle is welded only over the upper half of the cylinder at each end so theres a slit underneath on each end thats open

    Mine has slicing functions on the sides so if you’re going to buy this which i do recommend check to see that it has a zester on the sides

    I had an old box grater but it was one of those plated tin ones and was starting to rust

    For the person who complained about wash water getting trapped in the handle and then dripping onto food i suggest carefully drilling a small drainage hole or two with a highspeed steel drill bit that should solve your problem
