They give a nicer finish and are surprisingly quick to file down your nails. I love the way it files my nails so smooth and evenly. I still use a 2-sided coarse emery board when my nails become so long that they need major filing.

Cons
The filing surface is too smooth to be useful. The lilac is half the thickness. Not happy with the inconsistency in quality.
