It comes with a 12v 3w ac adapter for powering the ports. A 12 volt 3 amp power supply for the device is included for easy plug and play operation. It's great to have something that is always plugged in and it's just a matter of picking the cord.

Im not too sure what you need with 7 data ports as i only have one flash drive for most of my files but maybe someone out there needs multiple data ports

But for a laptop on the go or at home you could hook your keyboard mouse and webcam all into it instead of using up the ports of your laptop or desk model
