Pros & Cons

Pros

This product works as advertised. The humidifier seems to run smoother and have a better output. It stays cool and quiet.

Step down transformer runs fine and stable 100v high amperage output. I have a turntable that is a 100v japanese model and plug it directly into this step down transformer. My zojirushi rice cooker works very well with this transformer.

My only real nitpick about it is the choice of universal outlet sockets. The only complaint so far is the universal outlets - they are not easy to get a 2-prong plug into.

Cons

This seller is the absolute worst with shipping. Used less than 20 times in total and am now filing a warranty claim.

Quality

So 500 watts with the transformer will allow me plenty of power budget

It’s a high quality power supply it has a heavy transformer and doesn’t hum at all

As others have mentioned quality transformer with suspect and substandard assembly

I plugged it in and forgot about it which is exactly what i want from this type of product

Shipping

Been using for a month and would highly recommend especially for the price and convenience of amazon shipping

Amazon placed the manufacturers box into a larger one with a single air cushion on one end which led to damage physical damage ...  Read More

Packaging/appearance

Bottom line here is that the manufacturers packaging is inadequate and amazon really dropped the ball on their packing too

I also had a ball of solder fall out of it when i pulled it out of the box

Now on the other hand i havent tested out the 120v option yet because i havent had a reason to yet since i can just plug things...  Read More

Competitiveness

If you have any plans of traveling to a place that has a 100v standard or you happen to have small appliances that use it i wou...  Read More

I have a turntable that is a 100v japanese model and plug it directly into this step down transformer

Notice this is a 3000 watt model

Maybe i can use a daiso power strip to add more appliances

I was a little concerned by the low rated reviews referring to the fuses blowing all the time

However i now believe these users are trying to run items that has a much higher wattage than the rating on whichever model they purchased

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

The extra fuses came all broken though

The vertical prongs want to go into the sideways 34clamps34 that appear designed for the sideways prongs ive seen on some plugs

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

You have to kind of spread them apart to get the prongs in between them

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

This may be intentional to put adequate pressure on the plug but it makes it a bit of a hassle to plug something in

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I was a bit afraid that it would be noisy or would heat up

I may buy another one with a higher wattage to use some other electronics i have from japan
