When i first got this i thought it wasnt gonna work without power with a laptop and cable box but it proved me wrong

The remote battery is still working although i believe its getting weak because i have to be very near the infrared eye extension on the unit for it to detect the signal when im pushing one of the remotes input buttons

It has worked on its own powered only by the unitshdmi cords plugged into it

The price has dropped by almost 50 since i bought mine paying approximately 14

For those of you who refrain from reading the initial store page this product can accept external power but does not come with any such adapter

It will instead get the needed power when connected to devices something i found to be truthful when i connected my pc to its monitor with it just to verify it works correctly
