Pros & Cons
Pros
The meter is simple and straightforward, as is the instruction manual. Specially for the price.
It seems simple to operate and gives repeatable readings. Display is large and easy to read, even in dim light. Runs quite a long time on a set of batteries.
It takes out the guesswork, and saves you tons of time. It is a life saver.
The polaris is a shutter-priority device. The up and down * take you through all of the shutter/aperture equivalent combinations. All i need is to have a good aperture reading when i set my iso and shutter speed values.
Highlights
Quality
I am very pleased with the meter and would recommend it
So overall i would recommend this product
Seeing as the alternatives are at last three times the price i can live with the shortcomings in construction
Then after you take the reading the meter gives you the fstop that goes with the shutter speed
Price
Or lower the price to about 100
The only reason why i gave it a 4 starrating is its price
Competitiveness
Recommended as a lowcost alternative to some of the other more expensive brands
I then demonstrate the corded pc sync flash meter mode with a cowboystudio 180 watt second studio strobe
It gives more accurate readings for incident light than my sekonic my adorama 1º spot meter or any other meter i have

And it does have a warranty 2 years and a place to send it so quit trying to convince people that they need to spend a ton of cash to get something useful
