Pros

Use silicone grease on gasket. If you have leaks open filter remove gasket wash and wipe clean and check for any grit or rough spots and lube with silicone grease. I have a goldfish that is over a foot long.

This works very very well with my 40 gallon turtle tank. It pumps a lot of water. In a 60 gal tank.

We live in an area that is prone to power outages. I wish the mounting gear for inlet and outlets were better. Check for any leaking.

It is very quite, almost cant hear anything, but it is definitely plugging along. My turtle loves the soothing waterfall sound on her shell. The waterfall is so gentle on my turtle shell.

Cons

The longest it will run is 5 minutes and then it cuts out again. My recommendation is to spend a bit more money and buy another more reliable brand of filter. Hopefully this resolves the issue for longer than 4 more months!

The pump is so weak it cannot creat strong enough suction power. It works great for 6months, then the uv fixture fails and gets water in it.
