    I keep one at the front door since there is not switch for the lamp there and on a fan that is hard to turn off and on with the switch provided on the fan itself

    Caveatsseveral of the cords i wanted to use with this device are 3prong and obviously wont work

    Other optionsa power bar most with similar monitor lights optionally with builtin surge protection can be a better option option if you need to control more than one appliance
