I keep one at the front door since there is not switch for the lamp there and on a fan that is hard to turn off and on with the switch provided on the fan itself

Some of my switches have toggles with on and off positions clearly marked while others have rocker type switches and no way of knowing whether they are on or off just by sight

Caveatsseveral of the cords i wanted to use with this device are 3prong and obviously wont work

Other optionsa power bar most with similar monitor lights optionally with builtin surge protection can be a better option option if you need to control more than one appliance
