But after a couple of uses the oring on the piston will come loose from its groove

It gets caught on the piston shaft and prevents it from fully opening

It would be even better to remove the piston but for that youd need to drill it out and its not worth the trouble

I have used quickconnect fittings for garden hoses and sprinklers nozzles aerators etc but they have all leaked
