After an incident at the baggage scanner at the airport my pins came off of my jacket and my rare expensive pins were forever lost in the machine so i snatched these up and replace all those tiny backs with these uber devices

If you had this on a lanyard you might get poked very unlikely as it leaves roughly quarter of a millimeter exposed

Before the standard push clasps were always falling off permitting the pin to fall off and get lost

If you have pins that you like and im guessin you bought em cuz you like em then you have to secure them to your mc vestjacket does what its called pin keepers keep your pins on where you put em 5 stars 2 thumbs up
