Pros & Cons
Pros
The pr-5 can play inside on zone 1 and/or be piped out to the patio on zone 2 through a vintage stereo receiver. I set my system up so the volume sweet spot was around 80% on thepr-5, giving the amp a little head room. This special receiver makes it p... Read More
The ps5 receiver works through both bluetooth and wifi networks. The phorus app is way better than the onkyo or integra apps. No problems either using any of the compatible music streaming services like pandora. The app is great too and it has a surpr... Read More
Cons
When an album or folder finishes playing, the app immediately disconnects from the pr5. Selecting a second speaker disabled volume controls. Lots of rebooting all of the speakers and rebooting the application to try to fix things.
Using wifi / play-fi seems to sound much better, but the app situation is *horrible*. The phorus app itself (a slightly worse version then the dts playfi app) is extremely inconsistent. Unfortunately, wifi is not a great option as it can change and de... Read More

Phorus is a very good alternative for a fraction of the price
At a fraction of the cost od onos
Competitiveness
Have one of these hooked up to each set of house speakers with a 75w per channel amp
I am about to buy one more pr5 for my soundbar in the family room
Dont buy it just for bluetooth as its not any better than the competition here
I plan to replace with a new av reciever with playfi built in

I ran it to 100 on the pr5 and it didnt distort but the actual volume adjustment of the pr5 from the phone was easier than controlling the volume of the receiver which i can through a harmony hub but the hh responds a lot slower and i have to go to the hh app to tweak it so i basically set the high limit on the receiver then adjust from a set maximum volume down to the desired listening level on the pr5
