I suggest getting a small tube cleaner like for baby bottlesbreastfeeding pumps to clean the inside pipe that attaches to the pump every so often

Id like to add that it has a decent weight to it so its not easy for your pet to knock it over

I try to support local as often as i can but the only option my pet specialty store had was a 30 fountain that only had an onoff switch and no other functions or options
