The app is a little clunky but we don't really use it other than to set it you and occasionally check to see how often they use it. The cozy bed works perfect when the temperature is under 103. My furkids love this.

The pictures are slightly deceiving and i am not sure how they could illustrate this but it heats up from a metal plate on the bottom

There is a thin pad on top on the metal that transfers the heat it get get up to 106 degrees
