Pros
Persil is the preferred/recommended detergent of german appliance manufacturer miele. You do pay a small premium versus leading us brand detergents. If price is not prohibitive to you, i highly recommend persil universal gel.
Cons
The plastic container with special dispenser and measuring cap is a total failure. It spreads amazingly quickly over your hands, the container, your washing machine etc.

I found it was absolutely necessary to allow the items to soak for over an hour in the washing machine otherwise it wasnt as effective

This is omitted from persil color gel because on darker colors these optical brighteners tend to make clothes appear faded or washed out
