The hose end that was described to be 1/4 npt is definetly not a npt thread. It appears to be a o ring face seal connection, nptf?
As the tool is tightened to compress the spring, the slider moves down, spreading the jaws apart, releasing the spring. By the third spring the thin tool bent and lost all rigidity. Slips off 90% of the time.

Set cylinder at top dead center so im not fighting a cam lobe and piston is up in case valve tries to drop
