We decided it was nearly empty so added about 500cc then decided it was over the max

Only reason i didnt give it 5 stars is becauseas others have mentionedthe point where the hand pump joins the cylinder bodyis not very well designedand moves around too easilypotentially weakening the suction

So i removed the oil filler cap from the engine but still no success

Then i heard the valve on top of the pump hissing which it hadnt done previously

So i held the pipe connector on top of the pump down really firmly til it stopped hissing

Then nothing for 5 minutes
