Really happy with the first days of this.
Very much expected with the sound, and very happy with the short delivery time to hong kong.
I love the sound and design of the speaker but am disappointed with peachtree's quality control, and even more disappointed wit... Read More
But for what this cost, you can't even hope to get a $400 component outfit that even comes close to the sound of the deepblue2.
When the unit arrived i was really impressed by the quality of construction and design.
I use flac files mostly, so sound quality is important.
Shipping
Shame that they do not test units before shipping.
Packaging/appearance
Elegant and simple packaging, and a nice job overall.
Considering this unit was defective right out of the box, i expected a new unit as replacement.
It operates right out of the box.
Competitiveness
Update:thanks to the great service by amazon, i am now enjoying a new deepblue2.
-i sent back the ue megaboom i just didn't like it.
I did quite a bit of research when looking for a high-quality bluetooth speaker for my home.

It is easy to set the speaker in pairing mode when all you are trying to do is connect an existing source via bluetooth at which point you cannot connect.

If i had to guess i bet this is what is happening to a number of people who complained about broken bluetooth functionality.

My only concern is of longevity, i could use this thing for 20 years, but if complaints about units dying are anything more than a noisy minority, it might not last (knock on wood).

Overall sound quality impressions:stereo separation is dulled compared to hi-fi speakers spread at a wide angle, but it doesn't sound anywhere near as bad as a mono speaker.

I'm not bothering cabling anything to it, aptx all the way, tapping bluetooth button on remote to switch devices.

My impression is that it sounds great, noticeably better than standard a2dp, and indistinguishable from 16-bit 48khz stereo s/pdif/toslink (i think aptx hd is supposed to support 24-bit audio, but it's only available on a few devices so far, and it's not worth waiting for or being a deal breaker if you want a piece of audio equipment).

Bluetooth issue: android 6 and up has a buggy feature where it tries to synchronize the bluetooth volume with the device (it doesn't work on all devices, it must require the device to report volume changes back to the host).
