Pros

This book is a gold mine for beginner, intermediate, and advanced athletes. Excellent for fitness enthusiasts too. The bodyweight training books by simon boulter are also excellent and not very expensive.

There are lots of variance in the drills and many progressions to make them more difficult or easier depending on the tracuer's skill level. Each chapter has a challenge for different skill levels so we're encouraged to actually apply the information ...  Read More

Overcoming gravity is a book that focuses on obstacle based fitness. It is different from other strength books like overcoming gravity or convict conditioning. It relates functional fitness to many different sports including obstacle course racing.

If you train or teach parkour, it's malpractice not to own a copy (hah my opinion, really. It's a little daunting to train with a largely teen make group in the gym. I recommend it to anyone who wants to get fit and stay young.

    The text also offers a big picture of training for those of us who have learned the hard way that many approaches dont work very well and also that it is important to think strategically about training to consider both shortterm and longterm goals including different approaches to training during the year and to think of recovery as a necessary part of any training program

    One of the things that i find hard about books is that theres not very good explanations and theres almost never any pictures to show you what its supposed to look like

    Not with this book this book is so awesome the explanation of exercises are easy to understand and if you have a question about what the movement is supposed to look like they have pictures in it to show you not only what its supposed to look like but to also show you some common mistakes and how to fix them
