You can get enough height out of it so you can walk around the bike without bending over

Yes you can tip the bike down and rest the front wheel on the ground but i like being able to stand and move around the bike

The vertical tube comes up and forward at an angle so that when the bike is clamped it is hanging above the legs and centered between the 3 contact points of the base

The clamps on these put the weight of the bike more forward of the base instead of being centered over it
