Richard wiseman does a great job of describing a typical example of paranormal accounts from the past and using scientific research and studies explains the reasons that they happened and why we are so easily fooled into believing the impossible

For example many times after discussing a claim and how it fits into the natural world there seems to be what almost feels like filler in the book where he basically recaps what he just spent the last 2 or 3 pages talking about

One may make the mistake of assuming that this is just a book that sets out to debunk common misinformation and misconceptions not that that is necessarily a bad thing but this would be totally incorrect
