I am not sure what material the black stopper is made of plastic or silicon but the liquid does not touch the stopper while in the carafe or while pouring

Conssilicon ring the ring that prevents spills around the lid is ridiculously thin and difficult to place

Top closure this carafe is very difficult to close

You open it by pressing down on the metal lever but you cannot close it by flipping the lever back up
