Its pretty good on wideangle but pixelpeeping at a zoomed images reveals a bit of softness around the edges

If you zoom in on an image to the point at which pixels are visible you can see that the new lens is very slightly less sharp but the difference is very small

While it is indeed efficient at reducing camera shake it generates quite a lot of mechanical noise as it does so its a sort of mechanical grumbling from the lens

Panasonic seem to have spotted this and once you start capturing a video the noise of the stabilisation drops dramatically but it doesnt go completely silent and you can make out the noise on video soundtracks when the background level is low

In this case you have to switch off one or the other as they fight against each other

Would recommend and if i had to do it again this would probably be my 1st m43 lens

Both elements are vital but after alll it is the lens which forms the image and few using this one will have any cause for disappointment
