However in my zeal to get the probe out and meat onto a plate to rest i automatically grabbed the probe like a normal thermometer and thoroughly burned the pincher portions of my finger tips

As for the product itself i would rate it 5 stars however the way the container is made the individual parts are not easily kept together when it is not in use

Each one of those had been well reviewed from name brand manufacturers but turned out to be either shortlived wildly inaccurate or sporadically temperamental

I bought the thermometer because i couldnt get just the probe for a reasonable price and if i did i was thinking the new probe may not work with the old unit
