The screws are hex, but i didn't have a small enough one and was able to easily use my small flathead screwdriver. Dimensional thickness is identical to the original.

Great products. Operationally they work perfect. Would highly recommend.

Complete instructions for replacing these fans with new units is available on-line. Just order the right model and you will not be disappointed in my opinion. Easy to unintstall old one and re-install the new.

Cons

Fans are very loud on the lowest rpm setting (2000) the power plug is quite different, and when you try to plug it in, it won't go in. It wheezes and it is so so so loud!
