Pros

Amazing tool for cutting 1/4 inch backer board. A definite time saver and much better than cutting with a saw.

It works great with my corded 3/8 drill. It's easy to use on a cordless drill but you really need to use both hands to keep it going straight. Used on an old 18v dewalt drill.

Easy to guide to make strait cuts. Even slicing long ways. Even complex shapes are cut quickly and neatly.

This means getting a helper or horse clamping system.

Cons

The complex mechanism of keyless chucks don't deal with the percussive torque that this tool throws back at it. Use something strong with at least a minimum half-inch chuck and 7 amp motor or stronger.

The majority of cuts when installing planks are short vertical cuts. It is horrible in tight radius cuts. When you get to the end of your cut it breaks not a clean cut like a grinder.
