Pros
It is so easy to throw in the freezer. It’s super easy to wipe out at the end of the day before tossing it into the freezer to prep for the next day. No leaks, just wipe clean.

The sides are soft, so it lays flat for easy freezing. The only downside is that the condensation as the ice melts gets everything inside pretty wet.
Cons
The mere thought makes me shudder. This leads me to believe this particular lunch box was defective. Wish it would not have ripped.
Black mold all over the bottom of the freezer. It has to be from the freezer pack and moisture. No way to remove the gel pack. One of the built-in ice packs broke and was leaking.
Once frozen, it frayed at the seams along the zipper on the first week of school. Any added pounds are prohibitive to kids being able to carry their backpacks. This lunch bag is heavy!

I throw in a medium sized cooler bar as well as the gelmaterial coolants do not work as well as the plastic cooler bars
