Yes it sits low to the ground as other reviewers have pointed out but its not a lawn chair

One other consideration is that in sand loose dirt or cobbles the legs will easily sink into the ground putting you even closer if not actually on the ground

The kids and wife fought over how was going to sit in it first and once in the chair they weren’t coming out
