Pros

This raid is faster than my macbook pro's internal sdd hard-drive. This raid has already paid for itself in my ability to find files instantly. It accommodates 3. Gb of data, which is a huge datum.

Drive trays fit seamlessly. I have 4 x 4tb wd red drives set up as two 8 tb softraid 0 drives. I also have an older usb-c drive daisy chained to the thunderbay and it works fine. Now have 48tb of storage with 4 16tb drives.

Cons

Now i have to pay another $119 for the newest version of softraid xt.

It is so obnoxiously loud when 'active' or'synching' that it drives me to distraction. This thing still sounds like a rickety clickity clackity train going down a bent track.
