One thing i saw on some of the other reviews were people having trouble with a short lifespan

One thing that may help is if after using do not shut the master switch the rocker switch on the side of the unit off until the unit turns off the cooling fan as doing so may not let the components inside cool down to the designed level before being switched off completely

If you have been running the unit on high and then just turn it completely off the components inside will surely reach temperatures that they are not designed to operate at because there will be no more air being drawn through the system and must then rely on ambient air to sink the heat off naturally
