Rinthy holme discovers her brother's disposal of the baby she gave birth to. She is calm and obliging and finds compassion and care as she travels her sad road. Calla, on the other hand, is laconic in her conversations with others.

As the title suggests this is one of the darker mccarthy novels that is out there and definitely the most uncomfortable to read
