Pros & Cons
Pros
This is the only one that worked on my 2001 chevy silverado 2500hd duramax with 250k miles. This is the size you need for gm’s with similar (awful) steering setups circa 2001. Used on a 1996 f150 4x4 steering box pittman arm.
The tool appears to be of the highest quality, heavy, thick, and well constructed. I expect it can endure very difficult jobs. I believe this rigid design goes easy on the pitman arm shaft.
This puller fits in between the pitman arm and sleeve where others don't. The 8150 has a slight bevel in the opening compared to the 8149 which does not. Far superior to the el cheapo's from harbor freight.
Highlights
Quality
Work with the puller and a heavy hammer or dead blow
Used this on the pitman arm of a 2003 4x4 silverado 2500 hd with the duramax
With that said this puller does not slide in far enough to properly align the screw shaft with the steering shaft inset
Had to grind the opening slightly allowing the product to slip onto pitman
Competitiveness
This is the only one that worked on my “wellloved” 2001 chevy silverado 2500hd duramax with 250k miles
Worked like a champ just like i remember otc pullers of 40 years ago working
Used my 18v impact on it and 10 seconds later it was off
Small price to pay compared to other failed products purchased

After reading other reviews i wondered if this would work for the steering arm i needed to pull 1974 34t 4x4 dodge thats being rotated to change to crosssteer

The arm is rather large and it had already spread 2 and ruined cheaper clawtype pullers
