I am in the process of doing macro photography and i tried some filter lenses that screw on to my existing 1855mm but the clarity of the image was severely effected

Remember this is a fully manual lense so your camera has to be in manual mode and you can adjust aperture and the magnificationfocus on this lense directly

Mirrorslap if you focus beyond 1m on d800 which is a shame as i bet it could be a nice portrait lens on fullframe

The focus throw is very short so the focus ring is deliberately stiff to allow for precise focussing
